Hotel History

The construction of our hotel was begun in 1878 by husband and wife Thomas and Rosina Wolf. It has served spa purposes since the very beginning. Gustav Wiedermann left his mark on the architecture of the building. The opulent and grandiose Villa Imperial was designed in the Renaissance Revival style, giving the building an elegant appearance. Its beauty was admired by the likes of Queen Christina, Grand Duke Alexei, Olga Queen of the Hellenes, Bavarian Princes Theresa, or the young princess Zita of Bourbon-Parma, who fell in love with her future husband here, the last Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Other very special guests include President Václav Havel, who repeatedly stayed here with his wife, Dagmar. Other celebrities have come to love our hotel, such as actor Jaromír Hanzlík, Mr. Pavel Nový, Mr. Václav Postránecký, director Marie Poledňáková, Mrs. Naďa Urbánková, Mrs. Hana Maciuchová, or Ondřej Havelka.
